Course Landing page – Ability to view cost breakdown (price + tax) by user during checkout#1265

Hey!

I am a new Graphy user. My company is based in the U.S.

I am having an issue with the pricing feature. I thought that I would enter the price for the course, then the percentage of tax and then when the person goes to checkout, then the Graphy system would show the cost of the course, the amount for tax, then the grand total. However, I am seeing that this is not the case. In the cart, it shows the cost with a message that it includes VAT.

I need for the cart, checkout , and invoice breakdown to show:

Course Cost
Plus 8.25% tax and the dollar amount
Final Cost

This will help with the accounting and filing of taxes. What do I need to do so that the Cart, Checkout, and Invoice reflect this breakdown?

Hi Dr @Priscilla Kucer Consulting Solutions LLC , welcome to Graphy! We’re delighted to have you here. :)

You can set the desired fields that will be viewed during the checkout via the Payments section. Go to ‘Settings’ in left navigations, then to ‘Payments’ and define the currency, tax, and tax rate, along with the payment gateway if you haven’t set it up already.

Thanks Harshali for these steps. Prashma and I followed those last week. My question is about what the user sees.

As it is right now, the customer only sees the full cost of the course with a message saying that tax is included. I would like to know what I need to do so that the user would see the cost without tax before they purcahse.

Then in the Checkout Process, I would like for the customer to see the cost of the course, the amount of taxes, and then the final price.

I included attachments to help with showing you what I am wanting. I am using Amazon’s checkout process in this example. The first attachment shows the cost of the product. Then the second attachment shows the cost of the product, the sales tax amount, and the order total. I hope these pictures help to show what I am requesting.

Alright. For the user to see the cost breakdown before purchase, you’ll have to:

1. Go to the course’s pricing settings (Content ➡️ Courses ➡️ Select the desired course ➡️ Pricing), and add the full price including the taxes in the pricing plan

2. Once done, on the same page go to ‘Tax Settings’

3. In Tax Settings you’ll see an option called ‘Show pricing including taxes’. Select ‘No’. (image attached)

This feature when checked as ‘No’ will show course price without taxes to the user, and in the checkout step it will show the breakdown (ie full price and the tax percentage added).

I followed those steps and I can see the difference on the Courses page with the amount without taxes then in the cart, I see the amount with the taxes.

However, as a customer, when I click on a course, and the Course Landing page opens, it is showing the price of the course with 3 digitis behind the decimal point. Can this be changed to show the only 2 digits behind the decimal point?

Great to hear that you are now able to display the cost breakdown during the checkout!

About the course price now appearing with 3 digits after decimal point – we confirm that this is a bug. This shouldn’t be the case. We’ve logged it as a bug and corrective action should start in due course of time.

Meanwhile, I’ll mark this ticket as completed since the orignial issue has been closed. I’ll inform you here as soon as this bug has been resolved.

Thank you for sharing your custom domain. We’ve reported this as a bug and are in the process of diagnosis.

In the meantime, could you pls check if your pricing is set to more than two digits after the decimal point? Like so in the image –

No, I did not set the pricing to more than 2 decimal places becuase there are only 2 decimal places to represent cents in U.S. currency.
